Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced cucumber
  • 2 sprigs fresh basil
  • 1 cup chopped watermelon
  • 3 ounces SVEDKA vodka
  • Ice cubes
  • Soda water optional
  • Lime wheels for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, water, cucumber and basil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook, whisking occasionally, until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature. Strain into a container, discarding cucumber and basil.
  2. Puree watermelon in a blender or food processor. Pass through a mesh strainer into a shaker filled with ice. Pour in the vodka and 1 ounce of the cucumber basil simple syrup. Shake rapidly for about 20 seconds and strain into two rocks glasses filled with ice. Top with soda water if desired and garnish with lime wheels.
