Healthy 4th of July Recipes

Today I wanted to do something a bit different and share some of my top picks from around the web for healthy 4th of July recipes. It is THE day for picnics and BBQs, so here are some of my favorite ideas for indulging in summertime treats that keep it light and fresh.

Healthy 4th of July Recipes

It’s not the 4th without some grilling action (and fireworks, always fireworks), and this is the simplest, tastiest grilled chicken you will ever make. You literally cannot go wrong with it. 3 Ingredient Grilled Chicken (Pinch of Yum)

This salsa is perfectly patriotic. And it’ll go with just about anything that comes off the grill, including the aforementioned grilled chicken. Or you could just wolf it down with some chips, although that would probably kill the whole healthy vibe. Blueberry, Strawberry & Jicama Salsa (Two Peas and Their Pod)

These sliders may be vegetarian, but they’ll fit right in at any summer BBQ. Even meat lovers can’t stop scarfing them. Really good without the bun also (or the chips on the side) if you’re cutting down on carbs- try them on top of a salad! Quinoa Sliders with Green Goddess Aioli (Le Petit Eats)

Dessert time! Just because we’re trying to keep it healthy doesn’t mean we skip dessert on Independence Day. I’ve always loved the look of Red, White and Blue popsicles- I even made some last year! There are a million versions of these pops on Pinterest, but I prefer this all natural one which uses fresh fruit, coconut milk, yogurt and a just touch of honey: Red, White and Blue Fruit Popsicles (Just A Taste)

Another dessert, because it’s a free country and if I want to have two desserts I can. And it’s another classic- this Red White and Blue Berry Tart, but this one is grain and dairy free, with a nut crust and vanilla custard made with almond milk and coconut cream: Berry Tart with Dairy Free Vanilla Custard (Against All Grain)

I hope everyone has a fab 4th! Let me know if you decide to try out one of these healthy 4th of July recipes! Also let me know if you like these types of recipe round up posts and I’ll start adding them to the blog every now and then!
