This Paradise Protein Shake is like a tropical vacation in a glass! Start your day with a mini getaway with this creamy, dairy-free dream.
Oh boy, have I got a cure for your case of the Mondays- because none of us are immune to that curse, least of all me.
Smoothies and protein shakes have become a much bigger part of our morning routine this year, especially since we finally invested in a high speed blender. You should have seen us struggling to make smoothies before in my little mini-prep food processor…it’s a great little workhorse and amazing for so many other uses, but blending frozen beverages? Not so much. Frozen chunks of unblended fruit and gritty protein powder are not what you want in your morning , and overflowing liquid on our counters got old real quick. Kind of annoying and even expletive inducing when you’re in a rush trying to getting ready in the morning (especially on Mondays). So I bit the bullet and ordered a Ninja online, and it has totally upped our smoothie/protein shake game. Ever since then I’ve had a blast coming up with inventive combinations that make me forget that I’m drinking my breakfast, and I’ve absolutely hit the nail on the head with this one!
If you’re in the mood for something luscious and creamy that will transport your bed-headed, baggy eyed, sleep-deprived, over-stressed self to a sandy beach with crystal clear waters on an exotic island lined with palm trees swaying in the breeze (am I painting a clear enough picture for you?), look no further than this Paradise Protein Shake. It’s bursting with the flavors of the tropics- banana, pineapple, coconut, vanilla and best of all, passion fruit! I swear, if I close my eyes and take a sip I can almost hear the ocean waves and feel the humid, salty air of Maui on my skin and I am instantly revitalized.
Don’t skip the passion fruit, if you can find it. These babies were three bucks a pop at my grocery store, but well worth it. The flavor is subtle but unmistakably tropical and really puts this shake on another level. Also, make sure to add in an ice cube or two for that perfect, piña colada-esque frothy texture.
